(Untitled)
distance between two lives —
a severance: mended
set motionless against time
knit my warmest december
with patchworked mercies
and dog-eared smiles
given place to find
all is well on higher shelves
something borrowed, something blue
radial wave encompassing
the quiet patience of my void
and living is being in love with a bruise
and a mother fox wailing
and wading through pauses
and retracting into shells
and tender fruit shining
up from cold ground
tiny ship of chicory petal
in waist-high rains
where we are too soft
and speak in new voices
in plane all fresh-cut and bleeding
nursed reverently for happy harvest
both your living waters walking
and bones in your backyard
where the weight of what good is done
glints green from the eyes that made me here
and i am blooming
in frequency and fluency
in congruency and concurrency
conceding to agreement
where i lived once only contrary
and all that is
was elsewhere.
assent and ascension:
arise, little blue-sky
into the harmony of synchronicity
where it is safe to be seen.
looming loftily — eyes,
all around, and within,
grateful for the grindstone
to sharpen countenance of a friend.
